Technology - Surveying Management Baccalaureate Concentration, B.S.

The Technology majors will develop enhanced skills in their area of technical expertise, research advancements in their technical specialty, utilize modern technical applications, and fabricate advanced technical projects. They will also gain skill sets in ethics, business management, professional relationships, manufacturing processes, and supervisory teamwork. Graduates of this technology degree program will find enhanced employment opportunities in career fields that utilize project control, industrial applications, technical supervision, manufacturing technologies, and other advanced technical specializations.

ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES TECHNOLOGY/CAD - BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) CONCENTRATION, A.S.C.T.

This program is designed to prepare graduates for gainful employment as a BIM Technologist.  Emphasis is placed on fundamentals of construction and surveying technology, with advanced study in architectural technology and related computer modeling software. Architectural theory, construction practices, and various surveying equipment operation will be covered.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY, A.S.C.T.

The Construction Technology program offers its students a unique opportunity to gain academic and on-the-job training experiences. The program is designed to prepare graduates for positions within the residential housing construction industry. These positions generally include carpenters, lead-positions for framing and finish carpentry, supervisory management, sales, material estimating, and job costing. Many graduates seek employment in related fields of the residential housing industry. This typically includes positions for building material suppliers and other related industries.

SURVEYING TECHNOLOGY, A.S.C.T.

As one of the few universities in the United States offering a degree in Surveying, the focus of Vincennes University's Surveying Technology Program is to encourage, educate and train, and expand the participation of younger individuals in a profession where the average age of practitioners is 55.  As existing surveyors retire and technology advances, opportunities within the profession are more broad and numerous than ever.

ARCHITECTURE ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION (AEC) INDUSTRY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE, C.G.

This intensive one-year program is designed to prepare graduates for gainful employment as assistants in any of architectural, construction, or surveying industries. Emphasis is placed on fundamentals of architectural drafting, construction framing and safety, and surveying, which includes basic computer aided drafting skills, hands-on construction labs, and various surveying instrument operations. Graduates of this program may receive advanced placement into the Architectural Studies Technology/CAD - Building Information Modeling (BIM) Concentration 8302 (ASCT) degree program at the Vincennes campus.

CONSTRUCTION CARPENTER ASSISTANT, C.G.

This intensive one-year program is designed to prepare graduates for gainful employment as an entry level construction carpenter assistant. Emphasis is placed on residential house construction fundamentals, which include construction techniques in framing, electrical wiring, and finish carpentry. Graduates of this program may receive advanced placement into the Construction Technology 8240 ASCT degree program at the Vincennes campus.

This intensive one-year program is designed to prepare graduates for gainful employment as surveying technologist assistants. Emphasis is placed on fundamentals of surveying, which includes various instrument operation, establishment of control networks, and basic computer aided drafting skills. Graduates of this program may receive advanced placement into the Surveying Technology 8510, A.S. Career/Tech degree program at the Vincennes campus.
